How long does it take DazePlug to charge a vehicle with DazePlug?
The charging speed is closely linked to the charging power. DazePlug is able to support charging at most at the power of 22 kW in three-phase and 7 kW in single-phase. However, the actual power is limited by the available power of the network to which it is connected. To have reference numbers, if DazePlug charges at 3 kW, in about 5 hours provides sufficient charge to travel 100 km. As a result, for the same charge, it will take about 2 hours at 7 kW and about 40 minutes at 22 kW.
How long do connection and disconnection last?
The connection time, since the device is activated is about 16 seconds. The disconnection time before the car is usable is less than 6 seconds. During connection and disconnection it will not be possible to start the vehicle.
Can you driver over DazePlug?
For the moment DazePlug can not stand the weight of a vehicle but only that of a person. The carriageability is planned for the next versions.
Is it a problem if the vehicle is inclined with respect to the ground where DazePlug is placed?
No, DazePlug connector has a special design that allows each pin to be elastic and totally independent from the others so that it can be adapted at any inclination.
What happens if the vehicle is shaken during charging?
What minimum and maximum vehicle heights are supported by Dazeplug?
The minimum height of an electric vehicle that can be charged by Dazeplug is 95 (3,7 in) mm from the ground, while the maximum height is 280 mm (11 in). This makes DazePlug compatible with every EV.
Is DazePlug able to perform a DC charge?
Currently no, but the design of the connector and the on-board module have already been designed to support DC high power charging in the future.
How does the "on-board module" installation work?
The installation process involves first an electrical predisposition and then a mechanical installation. The electrical predisposition consists in intercepting the power cables going from the vehicle charger to the classic charging socket, cutting them, reconnecting them with 3-way switches and in the third way insert the cables that will go to the “on-board module”. The 3-way switch is necessary to maintain the functionality of the classic sockets. The mechanical installation involves the installation of the supports and the module under the vehicle and the connection of the cables arranged in the previous step.
